In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, the mental well-being of students has become a critical aspect of their overall development and academic success. Schools play a pivotal role in providing a supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally. This report delves into the comprehensive counselling and guidance services implemented in our vidyalaya to address the mental health needs of our students.
The primary objective of our counselling and guidance program is to create a safe and nurturing space where students can openly discuss their concerns, receive professional support, and develop coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety. By integrating psychological first aid and individualized sessions, we aim to alleviate the immediate distress of students and provide them with long-term solutions for their mental health challenges.
Throughout the months of July and August 2024, a total of 23 individual sessions were conducted, focusing on psychological first aid to help students navigate their stressful situations. Additionally, we engaged with parents to foster a collaborative approach towards their children’s mental health, receiving positive feedback and cooperation. This report highlights the key activities, outcomes, and future directions of our counselling and guidance program, emphasizing the importance of mental health support in the educational setting.
